Revisited some of the literature that originally shaped my thinking for the dissertation. Wrote some background as to why I think this research project is timely and important. Outlined the preface. Ate a delectable lunch at Panera Bread.

Wrote the introduction of the introduction. Was humbled, outraged, and energized by a talk on women’s gendered and sexualized experiences of law enforcement and incarceration.

Polished up the methods chapter and sent it on its way through the ether. Bought a sweet Karlsson clock on craigslist from a fancy family for $12(!).

Forgot my camera. Wrote about methodological considerations when interviewing survivors of intimate partner violence and when conducting ethnographic research in work places. Formatted some appendices of sampling tables and semi-structured interview guides. Walked past a guy who found it totally reasonable to explain to me that the library’s bathroom door wouldn’t shut – while still sitting on the toilet.
